Airships Over Southend
Southend-on-Sea
From
what
was
originally
conceived
as
a
machine
of
war
soon
became
the
luxury
ocean
line
of
the
sky.
The
life
of
the
airships
was
relatively
short
lived,
a
number
of
losses
saw
the
giants
disappear
for
decades,
then
a
resurgence
of
interest
saw
a
boom
in
airships
again, these were much smaller Blimps and were not used for war but as giant flying advertising hoardings.
